Summer Accesories

Summer is here and it's time to change up your wardrobe along with some cute accessories to match. Statement earrings, rings, and watches are all the thing at the moment so today I want to share with you my favorite accessories for summer. My picks are a little bit out there but not too much for those of you who aren't used to statement jewelry. It took me awhile to remember to put jewelry on in the morning until I found some beautiful pieces.

Statement Earrings:

These dangle hoop earrings go perfectly with off the shoulder tops
this season, adding a little sophistication and elegance to your summer looks.

Tassel Earrings:

You can find tassel earrings in almost every store at the moment as they are perfect for summer. Tassel earrings were all the thing for festivals now they are the thing for summer. A black set I guarantee will go with everything.

Pom Pom Earrings:

These earrings are a bit more out there making a bold statement for your looks this season. Pom pom earrings and tassel earrings are bringing in the bohemian look this summer making an appearance in shoes handbags and earrings. The bohemian look has summer all over it adding a bit of fun to your everyday looks.

You can never have to many sunglasses for summer! I'm hoping to add some new ones to the collection, these are my favorite at the moment.

Bracelets and Rings:

Simple and dainty rings and bracelets are perfect this summer, as clothing and earrings are becoming the standout parts to your summer outfits. Simple gold and silver rings and matching bracelets nicely complete a look.  You also can't go wrong with a staple watch this summer, mine  is black and goes
 with everything.

New Make-up products I'm Loving

Too Faced:
Recently I have joined the hype behind Too Faced makeup. There are so many raving reviews online about these products that once I ran out of a few daily essentials I decided to give them a go. If you have read a recent post of mine you will know I have fallen in love with the Too Faced Natural Eyes palette so head on over to that post for more about that. Secondly, I bought the Too Faced Primed Poreless translucent powder. I have never used translucent powder before but this powder is amazing and I would 100% recommend. This powder makes your face look matte so I can guarantee that you will not be shiny throughout the day. The feel on the skin is silky smooth and because it is translucent it doesn't cake your foundation. Lastly, I have been loving the Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara. There is so much hype behind this mascara I had to see for myself and what you have heard is all true! I like to wear quite a bit of mascara as long bold lashes is my go to look, I thought this mascara may not be right for this kinda look but I was wrong. This mascara is easily build-able to whatever thickness you like your lashes to be. This product is easy to use and gives you long bold beautiful lashes.

From high end to drugstore, after splurging on Too Faced products I turned to Elf for some final missing items in my collection. I was in desperate need for some highlighter and decided to pick up Elf's Baked Highlighter in Moonlight Pearls. This product is very light meaning it adds a subtle shimmer to those upper cheek bones or where ever you like to wear your highlight. Without knowing I needed some I found a daily brush cleaner spray from Elf. This spray you simply spritz onto your makeup brushes after each use. I am useless with cleaning my makeup brushes and when I saw this I knew I had to try it. This product smells amazing and actually removes and softens your brushes after use. Of course for a deeper clean I would soak your brushes properly, but for daily use this product is amazing.

Last but not least I have revisited one of my older eye shadow pigments from mac which is the day gleam pressed pigment. I have had this product for a while, I used it a lot during the Christmas season as it is a sparkly gold shade. However recently I have been experimenting with my make-up and wondered if on it's own it could be used for a simple daytime look. I love this product because one layer is perfect for a subtle shimmer. This product can easily be layered for a more intense look.

What to do when you can't sleep

Lack of sleep almost always comes down to some form of anxiety or stress. Having a good night sleep however can help with feelings of angst and stress during the day so lack of sleep just makes day to day activities harder and drags out your stresses much more than they need to be. Everyone has different forms of stress whether its work or school related or home life whatever it is shouldn't be compromising a good nights sleep. I'm a classic example of an over thinker and typically my overthinking happens at night, I turn situations that merely require a few nerves into an anxiety freak show by lying in bed at night thinking of 100 ways in which things could go wrong. I have a few suggestions to try to get sleeping patterns back on track they wont solve life's little stresses but it can be a small step to combating unnecessary anxiety of everyday situations.

1) Track your sleep:
Before trying to fix your sleeping problem I suggest tracking your sleep to get an understanding as to where your problems lie. Tracking your sleep can help discover if your even sleeping at all. We all have those nights where we wake up feeling like we never closed our eyes when in fact we managed to get a few hours in at least.
2) Have a bedtime routine:
Establish a bedtime routine so your brain starts to understand that it's time to sleep. That bedtime routine can mean anything to setting a time you want to be in bed by and a time you want to turn out the lights. Maybe try creating a face care routine before bed or having a bath.
3) Turn off those phones:
We are all extremely guilty of scrolling through social media or watching YouTube before bed however the lights from your phone only wakes up your brain. Maybe try setting aside time to do this before getting into bed or an hour or so before you want to sleep. I admit we aren't all going to stop doing this anytime soon but watching random pointless cooking videos on Facebook at some ungodly hour of the night isn't helping anyone.
4) Writing:
Try writing before bed. Write down a few things you liked about your day to feel positive before you sleep maybe those angst feelings won't show up so easily. Try writing down how your feeling to track how often you have feelings of anxiety. Even writing down what your stressing about or all the things you have to do the next day can help your mind switch off when it's meant to. We are all prone to forgetting things and one of my many problems is lying in bed trying to remember all the things I have to do the next day if I write it down before I sleep then my brain can't keep thinking about it.
5) Drink tea:
Try drinking some kind of tea before bed to calm yourself down. Chamomile tea is best known to help you sleep or calm you down however if you don't like chamomile any tea could help sometimes its a mindset thing, telling yourself something will calm you down and make you sleepy will often have those effects.
6) Try stretching:
Try doing some stretches before you sleep, this can mean doing it whilst sitting up in bed or before you get into bed. Stretches can relax your muscles.
7) Meditation/ calming music:
This one isn't for everyone but listening to soft tunes and trying to empty your mind could be a great solution if your problem is over thinking.
8) Wash your sheets:
Maybe your not an over thinker maybe you just simply can not sleep. Sometimes there isn't always a reason as to why things happen. Try washing your sheets and re making your bed, nothing can be better than getting into a bed with fresh sheets.
Now i'm not an expert sometimes lack of sleep is a medical condition however for others it's simply how we are sleeping and what we are thinking that is the problem. If you can do something to avoid the doctors that's a win in my book. If your stressed over exams or life in general take small steps to relive stress before you start making rationale changes in your life. Sometimes you need to take those big steps with a clear head to be positive and successful.

Avion en papier Poem

Avion en papier (masculine word) Paper plane /a.vjɔ ɑ pa.pje/ Drawing: @beaubonjoli

Paper planes:

City squeals
Under pressure
Flashing lights of every color
Linking arms with another
Dancing cars
Lane to lane
1pm held together with glue
Sharp edges and seeping goop

Four, six legs instead of two
Zebra crossing zoo
Brown bags
Empty cups
High off foam and fluff
Foreign phone booths
Blue rhymed youth

take photographs from airplane windows: tips and techniquesScheduled flights
Daily papers
Sipping tea
Under the covers
Shores of linen beaches
Skyline of lovers
Pen maps the page
Scribbled hearts
Mindless daze

Itinerary to nowhere land
Fake people
Lonely plans
Papier-mâché buildings
Front page clippings
Breaking news
18 with child views
Adult kid sized
Swallowed up whole
Living a life outside the fishbowl

Cardboard island
Thistle trees
Swaying in an unknown breeze
Folded down apartment blocks
Drawn by Fluro markers
Drowning in a headless pillow
Falling oh so deep
Pilot land your paper plane
So I can go to sleep

Two faced Natural Eyes Palette

Recently I turned 20!! which is insane because I'm officially an adult meaning I have to do adult things hmmm. Regardless of that, I received this stunning make-up palette for my birthday which was too damn beautiful not to take pictures of. This is the Two Faced Natural Eyes palette that comes with instructions for three different looks a daytime, a classic and a fashion night time look. Today I tried the classic look because the three colours they recommend for this look were some of my favorites.

For this look, there are three shades Silk Teddy, Push-up, and Erotica. To achieve this look there are three simple steps:
1.) Blend Silk Teddy from the crease to brow.
2.) Press push up onto the lid.
3.) Blend erotica into the crease and lower lashes.
Feel free to recreate this look with similar shades as it a beautiful look for night time and an extra special glam day if you're in the mood. This is how it turned out:

I plan to recreate the other two looks in the palette so keep an eye out. Thanks heaps for reading mwah xx

Simple Vs Intense Christmas Makeup Looks

Merry Christmas everyone!! Today I have a few different makeup looks you could potentially do for Christmas day. Everyone is different with their levels of makeup use, so theirs something for everyone. I have played around with different eye looks and lip colours. I hope this inspires you to have fun with your look this Christmas, try something you haven't before.  Enjoy :)

The Simple Look:

What I used:

With this first look I took my gold eyeliner by NYX and drew a line above my black eyeliner. I have also used a eye shadow called Day Gleam which is a pressed pigment by Mac.I used this eye shadow as a gold rim for my eyeliner. I simply took a small angled eye shadow brush and followed the line of my gold eyeliner to create a subtle gold rim around my eye. I also took the brush and went underneath my eye. This look isn't overly intense and allows you to play with bright Lipsticks without fear of looking over the top. The lip colour i went for is a cheaper lipstick by ACO it's a dark berry colour number 527. Personally i love this look as it's simple yet still resembles Christmas with the use of gold and red.

The Intense Looks:

What I Used:

This next look I kept the previous eye makeup and added a bit more sparkle. Today I have used the Tartlette in bloom palette which is so stunning. In the corner of the eye I have used a soft lighter colour called charmer. In the center of the eye I have used the shade funny girl which is a champagne colour. In the crease of the eye I have gone with the shade Firecracker which is a dark gold colour. All the shades I have gone with are sparkly which obviously feels like Christmas. For the first intense look I have used a Revlon Lipstick in the shade Rouge which is a matte lipcolor. This is a bright red, which is the most intense look I have done. This look I would used for a night time Christmas look as it is very bright for the day time.

The second intense look I simply changed the lip color to a berry shade by Mac called Flat Out Fabulous which is a Retro Matte shade. Simply by changing the lip colour i feel the entire look is different.

The Final look i changed the lip colour again to a baby pink by ACO in the number 506. This changed the whole look again and just simplifies it. If you love intense eyeshadow but simple lipstick this is the look for you. A nude lipcolour would also look really cool.

I hope you enjoyed this post and it gave you some inspiration to play around with lipcolors until you find the perfect look for you. Have a Merry Christmas everyone mwah xxx

Stocking Filler Ideas For Girls

The Christmas season is upon us, and if your anything like me then you has never been more disorganized for Christmas in your life!! This year I have been so busy, that gift buying has been on the back burner and if this sounds like you then I'm here to help. Sometimes finding the main gift is easier than finding those smaller cheaper gifts to fill up those stockings. Here I have a few gifts that I have brought to fill up those girls stockings under $20.00. Most of the items I have chosen are on the cheaper side with the most expensive being about $16.00. I hope this gives you some ideas for your mum, sister, friend or whoever you may be buying for this year.

For The Bath Lover:

The Comforter: The comforter is a body wash by Lush that smells amazing. I went for this instead of the snow fairy body wash because I thought this scent was more mature. I believe that this is the perfect stocking filler for any girl because who doesn't love lush.

Bath Bomb: This is the Comforter Bath bomb which has the same scent as the body wash. Of course you can pick any of the bath bombs that lush have,  I just wanted to be matching. Lush bring out some amazing Christmas bath bombs all a great price for a stocking filler or secret Santa gift.

For The Makeup Lover:

NYX Roll-On Eyeshadow: This is the NYX roll on shimmer eye shadow in the shade Walnut Noix. There are heaps of different shades to choose from so theres something for everyone. I brought this for $12.00.

NYX Matte Lipgloss: This is the NYX soft matte lip cream number SMLC04 which is a nude brown shade. This lip cream only cost about $16.00 and comes in a huge range of different shades.

Lip Smacker glosses: This is the Lip Smacker ice cream dreams lip collection. I thought this was perfect for someone a little younger that maybe doesn't wear makeup yet.

For The Candle Lover:

Grapefruit Candle: This candle is in the scent Grapefruit and only cost me $5.00 at Cotton on Body. This is the perfect extra stocking gift if you ask me. There are heaps of scents and different colors to choose from.

For The Glitter Lover:

Letter Key Ring: I picked this up from Cotton on Body for only $5.00. I thought it was the cutest thing ever and you can buy one for pretty much anyone. These key rings come in pink, glitter gold and glitter silver.

For The Stationary Obsessed:
Now I know I have recently done a post with this stationary in it, but I just couldn't resist putting it in my stocking fillers post because look it's just so darn cute.

Marble Journal: This journal only cost me $5.00 from Kmart, how adorable is it?

Marble Stapler: I picked this matching marble stapler up for the same price, if you know someone who loves stationary and marble patterning this is a winner.

Marble Weekly Planner: Everyone needs a weekly planner so why not get a cheap one that looks flipping cool.
I hope this gave you some ideas if you're in a last minute hurry to get some extra gifts. Please leave a comment suggesting your perfect shocking filler, good luck shopping ;) Mwah xx
